Ramping Up Fuel Efficiency Could Reduce Car Safety
July 15th, 2009With new auto regulations coming smaller, more fuel-efficient cars are likely to become the norm. The Wall Street Journal says other ideas to make cars more fuel-efficient include gas engines that shut down when idyling, lighter more aerodynamic cars and tires that have less-friction with the road. The downside to this is safety may take a hit. Lighter cars may have weaker cages offering less protection to the people inside. Take a look:
