July 15th, 2009
JustLuxe reports that the ETA has named the Jaguar XJ Britain’s greenest car. The Jaguar XJ 2.7 Diesel, which gets 53.5 mpg, has been named the greenest car for three straight years.
“In our tests the XJ consistently outperforms its rivals in the luxury car class,” said Andrew Davis, director of ETA. The Jaguar XJ displayed its fuel-economy credentials demonstratively by achieving more than 1,000 miles on a single tank of fuel, which averages out to 53.5 mpg.
“I am delighted we have won this award for the third year running,” said Geoff Cousins, managing director of Jaguar UK. “We fully recognize our responsibility to the environment and are committed to playing our role in developing technology solutions for our cars to address climate change — this award shows we are heading in the right direction.”
The new Jaguar XJ will be unveiled July 9th. Jaguar has set up a teaser website about the car here.
